Compensation and Benefits Plans

Overview

Our employees are Vigilant’s primary asset. To better support our employees and their families Vigilant offers a comprehensive benefits package including Healthcare, Holidays and Personal Leave, and 401(k) Defined Contribution Retirement Plan.

Healthcare

Vigilant offers two primary options, a Platinum comprehensive PPO group health plan through CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (BCBS), or employees in VA, MD and DC may choose a less expensive HMO through BCBS. Dental and Vision coverage are available separately or with the health plan with reasonable monthly premiums. The PPO plan is to ensure that all employees will be taken care of no matter where they go while the HMO plan is to provide a more cost-effective alternative to those in the area. Vigilant currently covers 70% of the monthly premiums for all the various health care plans.

Holidays and Personal Leave

Vigilant observes all Federal holidays, and our employees receive an initial 13 days of personal leave which includes vacation, sick, emergency and personal leave with an additional day-per-year increase to a maximum of 15 days per year. Non-Exempt Employees are not eligible for paid leave during their first three months of full-time employment and may only be used as accumulated.

401(k) Defined Contribution Retirement Plan

Our Profit Sharing/401(k) Plan administered by Fidelity Investments features an online system providing multiple employee-directed investment options and matching 401(k) employer contributions. You may contribute between 1% - 90% of your pay for which Vigilant will reserve a 10% matching contribution. Adjustments to your plan may be made at any time and will take effect on the first of the upcoming month. As an option, you may receive a loan from your account at 50% of your vested balance up to $50,000 and a minimum of $1,000. Please note that loan repayments, including interest, are automatically deducted from your after-tax pay.
